In that case, new items may be added to the sprint backlog during the sprint as long as it does not

endanger the sprint goal. Another tactic is that you identify stretch tasks at the beginning and you

add them to the sprint planning to potentially be done if there is extra capacity.

But they're considered stretch and not essential for reaching the sprint goal.
